Crazy evil undead / vampire celestial infernal halfbreeds? [[Wulfgar]]'s sword belonged to one. He probably wants it back.\n\n In the Thame there are crazy, corrupted celestials. He did not mention a specific cause for this circumstance but it seems to be connected to the original nature of the moon and the changes wrought to this aprt of the moon since it fell to the surface.\n

From -9800 to -16000\n\nCaused by the [[Cataclysm]]\n\nDuring the age of Destruction the elements seemed to be at war with each other. Dragons disappeared during the Age of Destruction. -- [[The Croupier]]\n
From -6100 to -9800\n\n[[The Croupier]] says a god helped the giants stablize the world but the Giants kept this very secret and there was a story that this entity died midway thru the Age of Giants. The Giants seemed to carry on the fight between the elements. Giants fought each other to near, his word near, extinction.\n[[The Skymasters]] arose and fled the surface during the age of giants.\nGiants sought to distribute information but were foiled by their own inter-species conflict and by other usually evil races. \nThe greatest representation of each Giant factions skill and knowledge were their respective vaults. A 'Dark' Vault reputed to be on the moon and believed to be destroyed. A 'Light' Vault which was used to help stabilize the world. 4 elemental vaults, no specific info given. All were zealously guarded.
From -2100 to -2560\n\n[[The Croupier]] mentions a library created during the brief Age of Kings called Thassalonikin but gives no specific location. This could be the [[House of Words]]
From -2560 to -6100\nTime of the [[Supreme Council]]\n\n[[The Croupier]] mentions the Council Chambers for the Council of the Divine and the Council College, a great learning center. Both were located in the north near a great wood called the Almarane Wild. Could be the [[Petrified Wood]] of today.
Aiode showed up roughly 400 years ago according to [[The Croupier]]
One of the two, have to ask doug, invented the roll of years, or was a prophet, warned [[Corellon Larethian]] of his fate. "What do you get when you combine a gnoll a human and an elf". Suspected of meddling with the constructs in the vault of air, adding his story to them and giving them the ability to ressurect ***some concept or thing we can't understand**, which we suspect represents a god.

Brandy returns from the north. Many of her followers have been slain and she herself has nearly died. With Allied support the twisted great tree near the edge of the Salt Sea which sat upon the bones of thousands of creatures including many Halflings, this evil ancient tree has been destroyed. She proclaims this tree to have borne the essence of an evil divine power but she was unable to identify it's source. The trees guardians, subhuman Troglodytes, fought to the last. The entire site has been hallowed and made a mass grave. \n\n\nSpeculation: Evil god that hates halflings?
Anghakhan is a huge sprawling fortress located in an impossibly high cleft in the [[Western Mountains]], surrounded by many deadly wild monsters. Only very powerful and resourceful creatures such as yourself could hope to even reach it. It covers more than 6 square miles! Much of it is completely sacked by time and ancient wars. You discover creatures native to the Darkhidden and the Dawning flock to this place. Before you can investigate too far you encounter 4 Eldritch Giants! You recognize them as members of the 19!\nThey challenge you and say the fortress is theirs. After some tense negotiation they say they will kill anyone who approaches this place except for [[Marion]] or [[Wulfgar]]. They understand you are interested in the Dawning, the Darkhidden and that you oppose Cyric. They are supremely arrogant and you sense they are making a great effort to communicate with you without trying to crush you like bugs (whether they'd be able to or not is a different story). Their leader or spokesperson is named [[Tranxkata]].

It is not enough to defend ones home. The battle must be taken to the gates of Evil itself. To do nothing, knowing there is Evil to be fought, innocence to be defended, diminishes Brandy. According to [[The Croupier]] a legion of Do-Gooders had something to do with the Cataclysm.\nPossible links to the [[Legion of Cato]]?\n\nThey were militant crusaders who battled specifically against evil outsiders. They were known as the Knights of the Chalice or the Servants of the Last command. There movement was violent and eventually widespread and principally arose to counter a great threat from outside this world. Many speculated that the threat was not real as it seemed to take many forms and persist in many places according to the crusaders.\n\nA culmination of their efforts matched the timing of the Great Cataclysm; both were geographically centered around a point somewhere in NE Kara-Tur.
The kingdoms north (they use appropriate elemental descriptions for direction) of the Salt Sea had heard for a few years of the assaults on the elven lands south of the Sea by the forces of Yeenoghu. Links between the two regions were few owing to the nature of the Sea. When the Temple of Journey in the south was lost contact with the people in the north became justifiably alarmed. This was a bold and early coup by Yeenoghu's forces.\n\nCato judged that the situation in the south was much more serious than most had anticipated. One day he took the Legion to the edge of the Salt Sea and left them there to walk alone into the sea. After 20 days he returned. He immediately gathered his officers and ordered them to prepare to travel south and that they must destroy Yeenoghu. Not specifically his army or to save the Elves but that Yeenoghu, a creature most took to be just a powerful Gnoll warrior, himself was their target and must at all costs be destroyed and he alone could do it. When the Legion was ready he produced a small metal dagger and snapped it in two. A great portal opened and Cato went thru. The Legion followed and emerged on the south bank of the Salt Sea.\n\nCato never spoke of what happened to him in the Salt Sea those 20 days or where he got the dagger. \n\n[[Baravar Cloakshadow]] claims that he gave Cato this dagger.
Aiod. Female Lantanese Sorceress/Elemental Savant. Follower of Selune. Served in Kincaid's army. Has traveled much around the Gnoll Empire previous to that. Seems to pity the Gnolls. Thinks becoming an Aiod is the greatest thing that ever happened to her; 'How many people get the chance to help save a world?'\n
Sounds like we dropped a pack of assassins into Magginok.\na lesser citadel in the territories of the Blue League\n\n\nStories have since been heard that in a warehouse on the edge of Citadel Magginok (a lesser citadel in the territories of the Blue League) a community meeting was broken up by the appearance of a deranged band of killers. Some locals were murdered before the citadel guard arrived and managed with some effort to dispatch the maniacs. The survivors of the meeting, members of a local self-help group and some invited speakers of note, claim they did nothing to provoke an attack from anyone. The attackers were powerful individuals who showed signs of living in or near the Salt Sea.\n\nOfficially the government of the Blue League says it cannot comment on an ongoing investigation but more than likely this is simply a case of innocents caught up in a dispute between rival local gangs. Calls are being heard for greater police powers in the region. Unofficially the guard has theorized that the attackers did not arrive at the warehouse by their own effort.
This citadel is comprised of 3 towers clustered around a central keep, the entirety of which is surrounded by a high wall. All the buildings and most of the furnishings are made from an ashen colored stone and are in a general state of disrepair. All structural surfaces are covered in an intricate pattern of runes that are completely undecipherable. The spirits believe interfering with the runes will cause damage to the structure. The origins of the citadel are unknown but it is believed to date from the Age of Giants tho it is obviously sized for medium humanoids.\n\nThe citadel boasts all the standard accoutrements of a functioning castle. It seems to be built more as a palatial residence that a fortified bastion. It boasts 2 large dining halls, a central arboretum (no living plants), meeting rooms, a large library (no books) and a grand ballroom. The citadel stood empty for many years leading up to the downfall of the Elves. Spirits infested the Rift and the Castle and the entire region was left to the departed.\n\nAt some point about 2200 years ago Yeenoghu is believed to have taken up residence here. From this place he marshalled his forces and planned his earliest campaigns. Eventually he spent more time in the field and came to rarely visit the citadel.\n\nAfter Yeenoghu's subjugation and imprisonment by his own followers the citadel and it's environs became deadly to Gnolls and their allies. The spirits believe Yeenoghu had made the citadel an actual domain, imbuing it with some of his deific power. When he was imprisoned, by willful act or not, this power was turned against those who had betrayed him. It's believed the Gnolls can't destroy the citadel for fear of destroying this portion of Yeenoghu and causing Yeenoghu to either weaken enough to die and thus stop powering their nature controlling engines or the power might return to him and make him strong enough to escape.\n\nAfter the fall of Cato spirit remnants of his legion scoured the land searching for Yeenoghu. They eventually reached Oghuhax and discovered it's new nature. They then established a secret base here. The evil imbuing the place has faded over time but can effect living creatures who engage in violent or hateful actions.\n\nFrom this base the spirits gathered allies and spied on the enemy, eventually learning the location of Yeenoghu. They located 2 parts of the weapon in the rift and in one organized grand raid seized them and brought them to the citadel. The Gnolls attacked and eventually contained the spirits. The spirits alternately struggled for centuries to escape and to summon aid. They succeeded in attracting the followers of Vulcan (more on that later) and some spirits of Aiod.\n\nThey were beginning to give in to listfulness and despair when Kincaid and his followers arrived, bringing the third part of the weapon. The Gnolls tried new methods to attack the citadel but under Kincaid's leadership they were countered and defeated each time.

The Deadshed serves as protectors and stewards of the afterlife or The Path of Spirits in Obakai. Death is a part of birth as reincarnation is a large part of Obakai's natural order. CE god of murder and lies. Purported to be the source and patron of Shiodes. Said to be stalking and killing other deities. Is 'beyond the reach' of the party. Source: Baravar Cloakshadow, party encountered one Shiode who showed evidence of worshipping Cyric. *UPDATE* Once allied with Shar and Bhaal. Source the Croupier.\n\nController of the [[Shiode]].\n\nHas a bunch of followers called a [[Knight of the True Lies]]\n\nCyric was known amongst the Gnolls as the leader of a self-help cult. The cult was founded several hundred years ago by a Gnoll named Tovin Roh-hur. Very recently they began to refer to Tovin publicly as Cyric.\n\nAccording to [[Vulcan]] Cyric fights his wars in this way: He begins with intrigue, turning ally against ally and neighbour against neighbour. He enlists the unknowing and easily influenced to his cause. He turns his enemies upon each other and loots the battlefield. He grows strong while others fight. When he is ready an army takes the field, many of whom do not even really know who or what they are truly fighting for. His Knights of True lies command the army usually in secret, with most in the ranks seeing them but not recognizing them for what they are. In the battle, only when he is sure he himself is at no risk will Cyric appear. He is a lean, towering, dark haired human in fine black leather who wields [[a thin longsword]]. He both fights with his sword and by corrupting and influencing people. At least once [[Vulcan]] thinks Cyric sent his army to Goodbrick to die on purpose, to weaken the Foul from whom the troops were drawn.
Arrived 22 years ago leading the group from Goodbrick. Human male Ranger, devotee of Vulcan. Seems always tense and on edge. Desperate to hear the any news about the Ullioch Wastes. His group was hard hit when the massive statue of Yeenoghu became animated. Was killed and then raised.

[[The Ages]],\n\nAnd this is the best possible estimate of the ages given info from [[Mazokokion]], [[Rhollus]], [[Xonxia]] and the [[Skymasters |The Skymasters]].\n\n[[Age of Despair]]: Present to -2100\n[[Age of Kings]]: -2100 to -2560\n[[Age of the Council]]: -2560 to -6100\n[[Age of Giants]]: -6100 to -9800\n[[Age of Destruction]]: -9800 to -16000\n[[Cataclysm]]\n\nThe Recent Timeline:\n\nThe older dates are approximate. Note all this information is what the available sources BELIEVE to be true.\n\nThe Age of the Council ends as the council unravels due to internal strife. The Councilโs efforts to manage all aspects of life in Obakai have resulted in plagues, despoliation of nature, rise of evil theologies and secret organizations, rampant racism and racial conflict and the increase and rise of monstrous humanoids. The Age of Kings follows as hereditary monarchies are established in the north and in the south a king manages a loose council of Elven clan leaders.\n\nPeople attempt in separate groups to hold on to the ideals and benign practices of ancient times as evil undercurrents cover the land.\n\n-2170 to -2154: The wandering adventurer and peasant hero [[Peleus Cato]] gathers his friends and fellows at the [[Dim Rift]] and announces he is forming a legion to fight evil. He reveals a fantastic hammer and several other weapons and armor that he claims the spirit of an ancient crusader bestowed on him. He distributes these items amongst his fellows and forms the Legion of Cato.\nThe Legion then embarks on a 15 year campaign to fight evil in the north; assassinating evil rulers, challenging monstrous hordes and redeeming evil creatures.\n\n-2200: Gnolls in the Elven Territories (ET) become more numerous and aggressive. [[Yeenoghu]] takes up residence at [[Citadel Oghuhax]].\n\n-2170: The Elven clans learn the Gnolls are led by a Gnoll hero named [[Yeenoghu]] who is rumored to be incredibly powerful.\n\n-2160: Gnolls switch from raiding to seizing territory in remote areas. The Elven clans contribute forces to a combined army whose officer corps is principally comprised of followers of [[Shieldalipe]].\n\n-2155: The Gnolls seize the [[Temple of Journey]], effectively cutting off the ET from the northern kingdoms. The army is unable to neutralize the Gnolls.\nThe Leader Construct advises the Elven King and his council of clan leaders to hold where they can and wait for the arrival of Peleus Cato and his Legion.\n[[Cato marches his Legion south towards the Salt Sea]].\n\n-2154: Cato enters the Salt Sea, is gone for 20 days, returns determined to kill Yeenoghu and carrying a dagger that when broken opens a portal for his army to travel south to the ET.\nThe clan leaders cannot unite on a coordinated strategy and actively resist the suggestions of the leader construct to trade lives and territory for time. The Leader Construct, backed by the followers of Shieldalipe, arrests the king and the clan leaders and attempts to assume direct control.\nThe clans fall into civil war even as the Gnolls seize new territories.\n\n-2154 to โ2150: Chaos spreads across the ET. [[The Legion of Cato]] ranges far and wide seeking to bring Yeenoghu into direct combat but the Gnoll champion remains elusive. Many Gnolls are killed.\nAt the same time the rule of the Leader Construct over the Elves is extended but several clans hold out and there is sporadic inter-clan warfare.\nCato intimates to his closest aides that once Yeenoghu is dealt with they will destroy the Leader Construct, kill Shieldalipe and then return north. They can not do it now because it would then mean fighting the Elves and the Gnolls at the same time.\n\n-2150: At the Battle of Ereus Tower, Yeenoghu marshals his forces and finally confronts his pursuers.\nThe Leader Construct is shattered by Yeenoghu. The constructs right hand is spirited away by followers of Shieldalipe.\nYeenoghu is subjugated by Cato, who is then assassinated by the Legionโs third in command, [[Lugox Josipus Maiz]]. Catoโs weapon breaks into 3 pieces upon his presumed death.\nLugox wears Catoโs raiment and tries to wield his weapon, claiming to be the new leader of the Legion. Yeenoghu is carried away to an unknown location.\n[[Brutus Bindorus]] goes missing.\n\n-2150 to โ2148: Lugox calls for alliance with the new โmoderateโ Gnoll leaders. Surviving members of the Legion eventually learn of Lugoxโ betrayal and focus on assassinating him. Lugox flees.\nThe Gnolls conclude the ultimate defeat of the Elves and remnants of the Legion as a lawful faction in the Gnolls assumes control.\nThey are aided by their control of nature in the area which is achieved by secretly draining energy from Yeenoghu to feed ancient engines in the [[Vault of Earth]].\n[[Shieldalipe]] and her followers flee underground.\nDuring this period the pieces of Catoโs weapon arrive in the Great Rift and are guarded by the Gnolls.\n\n-2148 to โ2118: Citadel Oghuhax becomes deadly to Gnolls and their allies.\nLed by Ophia Xerxus spirit Legion members and Elves (the Allied Spirits) set up a secret base at Oghuhax and begin searching for Yeenoghu and Catoโs weapon.\n\n-2105: [[Nankosac]] finds the [[Vault of Earth]], Yeenoghuโs prison.\n\n-2100: The Allied Spirits find 2 pieces of the weapon in the Great Rift and in a bold raid seize them both and return them to the Citadel.\nThe Gnolls immediately begin attacking the Citadel.\n\n\n-2094: [[Ophia Xerxus]] and a small group of spirits escape to seek aid and rally any allies they can find.\nThey eventually encounter and join a group of [[Dunmoren]] bounty hunters who say they were hired in the North by a person who fits the description of [[Brutus Bindorous]]. They were offered a fantastic sum to come south via the Temple of Journey and hunt down and kill Lugox. Ophia aids them in this task and eventually they find Lugox in hiding, guarded by Gnolls, and they assassinate him.\nThey are pursued by Gnolls and Ophia returns to Oghuhax.\n\n-2090 โ200: Gnoll attacks against the Citadel continue off and on while they put in place defenses that trap the spirits.\nMany Allied spirits will wanes and they fade into nothingness. Few Elf spirits survive this period as despair over the fate of their countrymen takes hold. More members of the Legion endure, fueled by their desire to follow Catoโs orders to kill Yeenoghu.\nDuring this period as the Age of Despair takes hold in the North (a roughly 2000 year dark age) the knowledge of the location of the sixth Temple of Journey is lost.\n\n-200 to โ100: A small number of [[Aiod]] spirits begin trickling in including Darvin Buckman. They report scant success in their mission to kill Shiod but their presence rallies the Allied Spirits and they begin new efforts to locate the third part of the weapon.\nBuckman discovers that [[Shiod]] cannot be compelled to tell the truth.\n\n-24 to -22: A group of human followers of [[Vulcan]] lead by Daniel Lynch are ordered by their god to head south from [[Goodbrick]], cross the Salt Sea on foot and find Catoโs weapon. They spend 2 years on the journey and find the Salt Sea to be a massive maze of passages winding amongst salt cliffs and mountains. They report the area is inhabitated by demons and devils and a few rare celestials. These groups fight each other viciously and endlessly. Few of the group survive to reach the south shore and only a handful of their spirits eventually reach the Great Rift and the Citadel but they relay what they have learned to their god.\n\n-7 to -6: [[Kincaid]] leads the strongest band of Dunmoren he can assemble to use the Temple of Journey in the north to find the sixth site. Upon arriving in the south they immediately clash with the Gnolls and head underground. Kincaid begins gathering allies from the Elves as Aiod begin arriving around him. He hears of Cato and his weapon and Yeenoghu but considers it irrelevant.\n\nAt about the same time followers of Shieldalipe contact Kincaid and offer him a great gift, the hand of the [[Leader Construct]]. Kincaidโs people use divinations and then he decides to willingly take it on. He enjoys itโs powers but tries to resist its influence and later realizes this was a big mistake as his commitment to good becomes weakened.\n\nAfter a few months a group of Gnomes arrive. They claim to be from the North via the third Temple of Journey located east of the Petrified Wood (the one the players used can be called the first Temple of Journey). They declare they have been tasked by their god Imrod, a benign god of crafting and community, to come south and help free the Elves. They have an item they claim was made by their god, a Lesser Shamsterโs Bag of Quests. Kincaid knows the Gnomes are not to be trusted but he will take any aid he can get at this point as he has become determined to overthrow the Gnolls.\n\nThe army is raised, many Elves are induced by Kincaidโs growing might and charisma. More Aiod appear. Ultimately they emerge completely from underground and begin their campaign. They enjoy many early successes as the Gnolls are taken by surprise but eventually a seemingly endless tidal wave of Gnolls is brought to bear against them and the army is crushed.\n\nKincaid is mortally wounded and then spirited away by the followers of Shieldalipe. He comes to in the [[Vault of Air]] after the hand has been removed, slays the present Elves, forces one to change the code Shieldalipeโs people have to enter the Vault and then departs. He returns to the site of the last battle hoping to pick up the trail of any survivors from his forces but the area is flooded with Spirit Hunters who are killing any spirits that arise from the fallen army. Kincaid is killed but in spirit form he finds he is even stronger and he kills many hunters before fleeing underground.\n\nKincaid spends a year alternately harassing Gnolls and the followers of Shieldalipe while gathering information and what few allied spirits he can find. He eventually finds a few Dunmoren and Aiod spirits and then while raiding a Gnoll Citadel learns about the situation at the Great Rift. He leads his group there, finds the third part of the weapon, seizes it and makes it to the citadel mostly by possessing and dominating a series of Gnolls. He sincerely repents his folly of pride and willingness to traffic with evil, is accepted by the Allied Spirits and after a few years becomes their leader. \n\n0 - The pc's arrive in the south of Obakai.

The last thing I remember of my old life in Faerun is paddling around in my kayak, hunting seals. Then a great whale or shark, black with white patches smashed my boat and swallowed me up. It was a bad way to go.\n\nThen, instead of reincarnating, or heading to the great hunting grounds, I woke up on a boat being poled by a skeleton, telling me I was going to Obakai, it was going to be hot, I was an Aiode and I had to kill evil souls that had escaped the afterlife and were destroying and corrupting this distant and benighted land. I later learned this was a load of shit. As far as I can tell, talking to the others about what they were told and heard when they died, [[Baravar Cloakshadow]] 'founded' the Aiode by funneling souls from the past, into the distant future. We kill shiode, the servants of [[Cyric]].\n\nIn the beginning we were told that these Shiode were faerunian like ourselves, and (according to [[Brandy Bluewheel]]) the first shiode she killed had some faerunian writing and spoke with a slight dialect. Which was very odd because he was a Foul. We haven't pursued this matter any further.\n\nAnyways, I arrived in Obakai outside the town of Joiop, near a burrow that was being used by the Aiode as a safe shelter. There I met up with a group of Aiode who were fleeing town after having brutally murdered an emissary of Goodbrick, his wife, and some of their bodyguards. One of the bodyguards had been a shiode which was a good enough reason for the group I was joining to kill everyone connected to them. We might be heroes down south, but our actions up north don't speak well for us.\n\nBack to the story, I joined up with the fugitives and we ran out of town before the citizens discovered the desecrated bodies they'd sucked the water out of. \n\nAt that time, the great heroes consisted of a human cut throat (Julian, who might still be alive up north), [[Brandy Bluewheel |Brandy Bluewheel]], a goliath (type of ork / stonegiant halfbreed) named Loam, a ranger named Jack and a swashbuckler named Jan (these two might also be alive). We traveled north for a while avoiding roads because we'd murdered a bunch of people. I think we were trying to get in touch with a human mystic who could talk to spirits, or we might just all have detected shiode in one direction and headed that way to kill them. We were disparate and aimless back then.\n\nPretty soon a sandstorm kicked up and we had to hide for a while. The wind and lightening conjured up a huge tower, infested with spirits. Hoping to get some treasure, or some water we investigated, eventually we got up to the top of the tower and met 3 spirits who had, apparently been debating the underlying morality of the world for centuries. In exchange for information we agreed to participate in a quest for them that would help solve their arguement. Basically we had to rescue some prisoners who were being tortured by an evil group of apemen in a mine within a certain time limit. If we got all of the prisoners, we learned information from one spirit, some prisoners information from a second, and if the prisoners died and we killed their captors we got information from the last spirit.\n\nIn the end we killed the apemen, Loam executed the surviving prisoners because their whining annoyed him. In exchange we got some information about the nature of magic in Obakai, the elements and elemental tokens. The tower sank back into the sand and we headed out again. Julian picked up an assassin as a spirit companion.\n\nWe had food and water from raiding the mine and stealing the water from the corpses so we were in good shape.\n\nThis period of wandering gets a little hazy until we rescue [[Dormgrim |Rescuing Dormgrim]].

Crafted by Gond, Cyric and possibly the House of Thunder.\n\nWas split in two by Yheenoghu, one portion was reassembled by the gnollish empire, this portion contained a hair of cyrics, the other portion (a hand) was taken by the elves of the [[Shildelai clan]]. Matti, before you continue, please tell your companions I have\nsomething to say.\n\nFor reasons Matti I think has made clear I have been so far unable to\nshare much inormation with your party. The risk of the information\nfalling into the wrong hands was too great. Now that I have seen what\nthe\nsituation is here I think I made the right decision. The Gnolls are a\nblight and should be eliminated. \n\nHowever, the discovery of this vault and these constructs changes\neverything. I consider it an absolute priority that the existence of\nthis place and the Supreme Mind be relayed to the Skymasters. I urge\neveryone hear to do whatever they can to make this happen and I promise\nthat it will serve the ideals each of you holds dear.\n\nIt is no accident that I came to be with your group. The Skymasters have\nbeen monitoring Aiod in general and your group specifically since you\nfirst ventured into the House of Words. After you destroyed a number of\nbooks there it was a Skymaster that covered the entrance in stone. We\nattempted to track your subsequent movements but your erratic behaviour\nand the fact that it is impossible to scry an Aiod made it difficult. We\npicked up your group again on the road near Bigfeet Fork with the\nresults you are aware of.\n\nYour commitment to disposing of the Greater Plague Spirit was impressive\nand so it was decided to send one of us with you on this journey. This\nland is unknown to us and we wanted to learn as much as we could about\nit and yourselves.\n\nThe Skymasters are dedicated to the maintenance and preservation of\nancient works such as the roads, libraries, the Temples of Journey and\nother such places. We also collect information and lore. We maintain\nthese things in preparation for when a power will come that can use them\nproperly as part of a sustainable, balanced world.\n\nIt is clear that the Gnolls are not such a power.\n\nThis sight seems to date from the Age of Giants. The Skymasters\nknowledge of ancient history is fractured and limited and my death has\ndimmed my faculties somewhat but I know there are generally 5 ages and\nthey are in order the Age of Destruction, the Age of Giants, the Age of\nthe Council, the Age of Kings and the Age of Despair, sadly our present\nage.\n\nCato lived in the Age of Kings. The Age of the Council refers to as you\nmay be guessing the Council of the Divine. That was both a golden age\nand then an age of rapid decline. The Age of Giants was a period of\nlimited wars, consolidation and the construction of elaborate and\nfantastic works. Next to nothing is known about the Age of Destruction\nexcept that it was a time of war and great natural calamities. I hope\nthese meager bits of information can put this place into some kind of\ncontext for you.\n\nThis sight and the existence of the Supreme Mind are of vital interest\nto the Skymasters. The protection and maintenance of both would be very\nimportant to us and yourselves. In case I do not make it I urge each of\nyou to carry this information to the Skymasters. You will find us to be\na great ally in your cause.
The Supreme Mind. Lawful Good illithid super mind.\n\nWe've been told his primary concern is his own survival. He is still the most proactive ally we have.\n\nIt is odd that he isn't a god given his longevity and power.\n\nHe knows more about the dawning and darkhidden than he has let on.\n\nAccording to [[Xonxia's Clone]] he was always pestering people to investigate, be more proactive, crusade etc..\nSeems to have a (fairly hidden) history of working with [[Baravar Cloakshadow]], the most specific example of this is his relationship with Baldur and his group. I suppose our group is another hint as well. Divinations asking for advice (which go to Baravar) told us to seek out Mazokokion.\n\nHe also seems to be involved with Baravars other non shiode quest, the super secret, super epic quest.\n\n[[The Croupier]] "Mazokokion once given the reins of power held truer to his conscience than most but this only made the reins slip quicker from his fingers. A leading warrior. Served in the Legion. Human female Paladin/Cleric/Champion Paladin. Solemn but friendly. Seems relieved that the party is here. Completely concerned with the security of the citadel. Still seems unable to understand the idea of gods and admittedly doesn't care about such issues. Surprising coming from a cleric and paladin but she concerns herself with immediate tasks in this world, like organizing watches and guarding the weapon. Says ruefully 'That's how I practise my faith. Not by talking to the air.'\n\nKilled (FD) in the breakout from Citadel Oghuhax.

Rather they use a method that can force the evil doer to confront their own sins and thus invite them to make a revaluation of their lives and moral bearing.\n\nThe knowledge of this PrC was lost for a period but has been restored through the aid of the Skymasters.\n\nRequirements:\nBAB: +6\nAlignment: Any good\nDiplomacy: 8 ranks\nKnowledge (Religion): 8 ranks\nSense Motive: 5 ranks\nFeats: Skill Focus (Diplomacy)\nSpells: Ability to cast 2nd level divine spells\n\nHD: d6\nBAB: Good (+1 per level)\nSaves: Good Fort and Will\nSkill Pts per level: 2 + Int mod\nClass Skills: Concentration, Diplomacy, Gather Information, Heal, Intimidate, Knowledge (History) (Local) (Religion), Listen, Perform, Ride, Sense Motive\n\nSpells Per Day: +1 at level 1, 3, 5\n\nLevel 1: Awaken Sins 1/day, merciful edge\nLevel 2: Blade of Compassion +1d6\nLevel 3: Awaken Sins 2/day, voice of serenity\nLevel 4: Blade of Compassion +2d6\nLevel 5: Awaken Sins 3/day, consume sins 1/week\n\nAwaken Sins is as per the spell listed below.\n\nMerciful Edge: No -4 penalty for striking to subdue with a lethal weapon.\n\nBlade of Compassion: Bonus when striking to deal non-lethal melee damage only.\n\nVoice of Serenity: +2 sacred bonus to Diplomacy. +1 sacred bonus to the save DC of any Enchantment spell cast with a verbal component.\n\nConsume Sins: Requires physical contact in minutes equal to the tarets HD. Permanent negative levels can be restored with a Greater Restoration.\n\nThis process can only ever be attempted on a creature once.
A month passes. The new peace endures in some places but not all. Ophia Xerxus directs your efforts at times and works to coordinate them with Allied forces.\n\nThe Blue League expands!\nThe Citadel of Yeenoghu, the religious capitol, agitated by nearby Allied incursions joins the Blue League of allegedly neutral Gnoll citadels. League spokesman promise that the religious practices of these people will be respected however they have renounced their aims to retake by force portions of the Empire.\n\nBraesilaus expands and thrives!\nThe forest spreads further over the political capitol. Followers of Brandy secure the Temple of Rhollus, also called the Sudden Temple, while Marions sages, wizards and bards begin working in the colleges and the Markham Hall of Records. More locals are drawn to Braesilasus and thorps spring up in standing buildings and ruins.\n\nA gang of demons attempts to burn down the Markham Hall but are slaughtered, falling victim to Brandy's disciples and the Halls own magical defences.\n\nWater, water, water!\nMany small bodies of water are purified by Allied forces. Rain comes to more and more areas. The oppresive natural heat of Obakai takes a heavy toll but druids lead by free Wild Elves from the Great Briar are beginning to learn how to shape weather and cloud the sky.\n\nAssassins!\n6 Legion officers are assassinated in remote areas. The culprits are unknown until Marion of Battledale falls victim. His followers recover his body and he is subsequently raised but it is a near thing. The culprits are believed to be a league of mercenary assassins comprised of infernals and monstrous humanoids. It is not known who hired them. Their base near the Salt Sea is raided and found to be empty.\n\nThe construction of fortifications around Takreet begins!\n\nA great temple to Rhollus, Vulcan and Brandy is to be built near the current edge of Thromanthor!\n\nBattles continue in the Great Rift and other places against Gnoll hold outs!\n\nA miltant, lawful force is rising in the Western Mountains! Dwarves emerge from hiding drawn to previously unknown Aiod.\n\nBy the end of the month, Aelar returns triumphant from the field of battle, with four fist-sized pieces of a Porthra. He informs the group that one piece will be given to Mazokokion, another to one of the Gold Dragons, and the remaining two will remain with our allies. He intends to spend some time studying it himself, hoping to gain insight into why magic is so disrupted here, and more importantly, how to fix it.\n\nThe work of building a support base for magical instruction goes well. Aelar urges all his followers, and any who are taught by them or even come into contact with them, to share magical knowledge. Some things, he'll tell the group, must by necessity be kept secret for now - Dawning/Darkhidden magic, and that relating to the Aiod/Shiode. But in general, I encourage those studying magic to embrace the tenets of Mystra, the goddess of magic of Old Faerun.\n\nIf anyone has anything of gold that has immense artistic value, or great magical power, Aelar is trying to find something appropriate to offer to one of the Dawning Dragons in order for knowledge of Dawning magic. \n\n\nAccording to Kharvae, the dawning dragons seem to be into dragon pacts.
The Markham Hall of Records is destroyed! The servants of Cyric raid Braesilasus!\n\nThe Markham Hall of Records, the millenia old collection of Elven lore, has been razed to the ground. 40 or more demons lead by a company of Knights of the True Lies, headed by a Grand Knight, attacked the hall. The local allied commander recommended by Brandy and appointed by Ophia Xerxus, the paladin Shardarin, had prepared a cunning defence but the sheer force of the enemy assault was over whelming. Many allies in the hall at the time suffered final death. Allied heroes Brandy and Aelar arrived in the city within minutes and the enemy force suffered massive losses. The slaughter did not distract the fiends from their mission and the hall was consumed. 8 Knights and nearly all of the demons were killed. Cyric has lost a large amount of personal power but the secrets of the Hall may be gone forever.\nThose close to her and knowledgeable in such things recognize that a change has come over Brandy. She is no longer a mere mortal but has ascended to deific status. She is a hero-deity and is now a living representaion of her ideals. But what are her ideals?\n\nThe Legion makes plans to flex it's muscle. The Legions ranks number more than 12,000 now. Amongst the leadership word spreads that a major operation will take place soon. In reaction to the destruction of the Markham Hall of Records efforts are stepped up to track and kill Shiode throughout the south.\n\nMore undead appear focused in two battlefields around the Great Briar; one to its west, the other to its east. Sages think these regions will be tainted for a long time.\n\nThe awakening of the native Elves continues. Knowledge pours forth in the form of tales of the allied cause and it's deities. Aspiring arcanists join the pilgrims to Thromanthor to learn the Art. People can feel it in the air. The potential for a new rennaissance is here, now and the flames are being fanned. It all seems so possible but the situation is still precarious in many areas. Knowledge is spreading but some extra great kick seems needed.\n\n[[Jepitine]] messages [[Ophia Xerxus]] that she 'has to leave.' She would not say where she is going. She asks Ophia to tell Marion that she very much hopes to see him again one day 'when they both will be free.' Attempts to locate her then prove fruitless. An investigation is launched led by Xindikaath, a femal Illithid wizard and Legion member.\n\nMatti departs for the north to visit Goodbrick. His trip is a secret known only to senior Allied personnel.\n\nThe Blue League steps up patrols of its borders.\n\nFish appear in a few purified lakes. People are told not to go fishing just yet.\n\nGeneral Totaelus contacts the Allies and says the Blue League is pressuring his people to join them. Totaelus seems determined to create a good aligned but independent state. He asks what the Allies would think of a mutual defence treaty. All players who wish to investigate this subject can then provide input on it.\n\nWord comes that the militant lawful order in the Western Mountains is led by Aiod servants of Tyr! It is expected that they have had no contact with Tyr in Obakai but nobody is 100% sure. This group is not very communicative with the Allies.\n\nThere is no progress in tracking the assassins but neither are they heard from this month.
********************************************\nXerxus told Wulfgar, Aelar and Marion "This plan is called Catch and Release. Since they were natives of the Salt Sea I theorized they wouldn't stray too far from it. And if they wanted to hide near the Salt the Grind is the best place. Our scouts finally tracked them down. We need them alive. Nobodies life is more important than taking them alive. After that, it doesn't matter who hired them; Cyricists, Yeenoghu fanatics, Gnoll supremacists, they are all to be found in the Blue League and we know who we want dead. Wulfgar, easy on the curses. We want them in top form for their trip. Just beat down and capture as many you can. Aelar, direct the mages to prepare teleports and the necessary tools like Confusion, Dominate, Friend to Foe, Insanity and our new gift from General Kharvae, Greater Incite Riot. Extend the spells as needed. Layer them on and mix it up a bit. And Marion, a Mass Heal or two will be needed to wake them up at the other end. Everyone, don't be afraid to drop some buffs on them before they are let loose. Good luck all."\n\nStories have since been heard that in a warehouse on the edge of Citadel Magginok (a lesser citadel in the territories of the Blue League) a community meeting was broken up by the appearance of a deranged band of killers. Unofficially the guard has theorized that the attackers did not arrive at the warehouse by their own effort.\n************************************************************************\n\nMonth 3 News:\n\nAelar, Wuflgar and Marion have assisted Legion forces in an assault on an assassin encampment on the edge of the Grind. Under Ophia Xerxus direction Legion scouts aided by Salt Gnomes and a company of General Totaelus' cavalry found the camp. The Allied attack is well executed, Allied casualties are moderate and per orders many of the assassins are captured alive. They are quickly enchanted by a variety of means and then prepared for transport.\nOnly Aiod can go on with the second phase of the mission. The assassins are taken to a nondescript warehouse in a Gnoll citadel in the territory of the Blue League. Xerxus has been monitoring Shiod movement in the Blue League by slipping Aiod teams in and out of the region. A large Shiod meeting is disrupted by the dumping off of the captured assassins. Many Shiod are killed as are all the assassins.\nThe operation serves 3 purposes; killing the assassins, killing Shiod and forcing neutral elements in the Blue League's government to face the evils they are hosting. Hopefully Gnolls committed to law and order will investigate who in the Blue League hired the assassins to attack the Allies and thus invited this retaliation.\n\nAllied forces are advised to avoid the Western Mountains for now.\n\nThe great lake NW of Thinglid has been named Tosspot Lake. It stretches over many square miles. Natives of all types flock to it's shores to gaze at this natural wonder. In the depths Water Kine have appeared.\n\nIt is reported that the first team of Dunmoren from the North have entered Thinglid in the company of several Deadshed. They aim to link up with friendly forces in Semmesh and then head for Waldsen's Grove in The Thame.\n\nA complicated and expensive mystical process is re-learned by Allied sages that allows a creature to use the Wellspring of Life to reorder their own skills and experiences.\n\nThe first serious attempts to transcribe Elven tribal lore from the past 2000 years begin and are soon part of an exchange of knowledge and legends that circulate between the Great Briar, Thromanthor and Braesilasus. Skymasters destroy a group of Gnoll brigands who attempted to raid a gathering of Elven writers and artists near the Briar.\n\nTeachings at Thromanthor produce the first native born Incantatrix' to grace the south in possibly thousands of years. Calls are being heard for the construction of a mages academy in the area.\n\nBrandy returns from the north. The entire site has been hallowed and made a mass grave.\n\nPlans are made and the first steps taken for the construction of a great Legion hall and training field in Thromanthor.\n\nMatti returns from Goodbrick. \n\n[[confidential month 3]]
Month 4 news:\n\n[[Shevarash]] shows up in [[Thromanthor]]. General [[Kharvae Moonbow]] has met with Shevarash and is convinced this is the deity he know before the cataclysm. The only difference seems to be that Shevarash now has a new enemy to focus his attentions on!\n\n\n\nSporadic violence plagues the lands surrounding the Blue League. Attacks on Allied sages and educators occur throughout the month. Legion forces respond quickly and decisively but the attacks continue. The Blue League attributes it to isolated bands of brigands and claims to be making progress in establishing law and order in their territory. They cite the upheavals caused by Allied forces as the cause of this disorder. There is no Shiode presence amongst the bandits but it is proven they have had contact.\n\n\n\nA mutual defence treaty is signed between the Allies and the lands controlled by General Totaelus, now called Elladogue after the Elven name for the plateau at the edge of The Grind.\n\n\n\nA Bardic college is established by the Elves with in the Great Briar in a great and ancient ruin. The college is called Oghma's Retreat tho it is not specifically a religious center. This installation has been founded and is run by Elves native to the region who have been influenced by Allied teachings.\n\n\n\nThe Brotherhood of the Darkhidden is founded in Takreet and takes up residence in and around the Vault of the Darkhidden. Nervous natives of Takreet are assured by Lord Repolus that there is nothing to fear and the Brotherhood will only strengthen the cities defences.\n\n\n\nBrandy Bluewheel is seen riding on the back of a huge Gold Dawning Dragon.\n\n\n\nMazokokion announces that a link has been formed between the star globe in the ruined castle at the top of the bridge to The Thame and the transport system linked to the Vault of Air. Dunmoren and Deadshed have made contact with Waldsen.\n\n\n\nAfter a long, tense standoff the Legion has subdued the false legion of Cato that held a citadel near the Great Rift. As leader of the legion Ophia Xerxus has taken on the reclaimed Raiment of Cato. Her command and defensive abilities have increased greatly as a result.\n\n\n\nA new movement has appeared in rural areas that embraces frivolity and spontaneous nonsensical behaviour. It is judged to be a reaction to the upheavals and suffering that has plagued many areas. The practitioners venerate no specific power and have no established dogma beyond a rejection of both old and new norms. It has been nicknamed 'The Nothing Matters' festival or club.\n\n\n\nMore Skymasters arrive in the South. Concurrently more birds and other avians appear throughout the region.

The full extent of a deity can not be represented in a physical form. The essence of the practices and ideals that a deity represents are part of Obakai tho to an extent they are synergistic with a deities physical form. Completely destroying or altering such an essence requires more substantive action than simply effecting the deities physical representation. It would require a great effort that would produce substantial change across the breadth of this world.\n\nA deities consciousness may be eradicated and it's will crushed or dispersed but the deities core building blocks or essence may still exist. These could be a widespread belief in something like justice or hate, the general practice of a trade, the existence of certain types of animals, the presence of certain elements, etc. \n\nYou can kill their physical being. Cyric does this and then if their portfolio is suitable to his temperament he attempts to take it over and add their essence to his own or he directly or indirectly works to see their essence perverted and destroyed. He's had a lot of help from other forces who have been crushing most things good for many years.\n\nIf a flicker of a deities essence endures, untainted and pure, then possibly the deity might be restored. \n\nPossessing their bodies is the most direct way to harm a deity and if you held them in your power for an extended time you could potentially control, alter or damage their essence. \nShiode followers of [[Cyric]] revealed to the gnollish empire and the 19 that one way of fighting a god is to kill its worshippers. This is why the gnolls began slaughtering and eating elves.\n\nApparently, taking epic levels of a Champion prestige class, or having more than 30 levels puts you on the path to becoming a god. You require an extremely high wisdom, or else your divine spark drives you crazy. \nApparently gods cannot interact with [[the dawning |The Dawning]] or [[the darkhidden |The Darkhidden]].\n\n\n-- Speculation - Matti\nLasting real change can most easily accomplished by mortals. Gods can help and work with people, but its people who really get things done.\nLeft to their own devices, gods will just get stuck into a routine doing the same thing over and over (maintaining their portfolio basically) just like the giant constructs on the broken road. Case in point, Vulcan, build, spread, maintain, get sieged, rinse, repeat.
Nobanion was killed by [[Cyric]] at the end of the Age of Kings. His last followers were the [[Western Dukes]], so named by Nobanion himself. They lived far far to the west, beyond the [[Plains of Fire]]. \n\nNobanion sired a number of noble lines and was attempting to fill the void left by the council with monarchical rule in a few places. Cyric was the principal undoer of Nobanions plans. It is possible some of Nobanions offspring still live. \n\n[[King Gravitas]] was an example of a royal lineage supported by Nobanion.

Current leader of the [[Legion of Cato]]\nEldritch Knight, female Half-Elf. Ophia was a contemporary of Cato, served as one of his aides and fought with him through many campaigns. She like all the ex-members of the Legion regards Cato as the greatest creature to ever inhabit this world. She has a relaxed leadership style, is friendly and personable but is absolutely committed to the quest to destroy Yeenoghu and regards success as inevitable. She was the spirit companion to the Dunmoren Bounty Hunter, Dana Loncaig, who killed Lugox. \n\nHer father might be the king who's feet make up Big Feet Fork -- matti King [[Jay Xersus]], one of the few northern kings to support [[Peleus Cato]]
NG god of war and crusaders. By his own request slain to give his divine energy to help form Rhollus. Source: Cato, the party, Rhollus.\n\nPreviously a peasant hero. The wandering adventurer and peasant hero [[Peleus Cato]] gathers his friends and fellows at the Dim Rift and announces he is forming a legion to fight evil. He reveals a fantastic hammer and several other weapons and armor that he claims the spirit of an ancient crusader bestowed on him. He distributes these items amongst his fellows and forms the Legion of Cato.\nThe Legion then embarks on a 15 year campaign to fight evil in the north; assassinating evil rulers, challenging monstrous hordes and redeeming evil creatures.\n\nAccording to the skymaster in my head:\n\nPeleo Cato lived approximately 2400 years ago. He was a human fighter and cavalier who fought many battles against monstrous tyranny. He wielded a heavy mace of unknown origin that was reputed to have the ability to smash through any armor, shield or even fortification and was touched with a supreme divine power. He was a controversial figure in his time for his habit of attacking (assassinating?) powerful creatures he judged to be a menace and was regarded with as much suspicion as respect by kings and other leaders. Cato and his followers, which included many redeemed creatures, ranged far and wide across the world and there were many rumours about his end but nothing known for sure. His symbol was a rearing red Unicorn on a field of ermine.

The raid on the gnollish political capitol had two goals. The first goal, widely known by the troops was expressed by Rhollus, to demonstrate the power and unity of the Rebel forces, to attack the leadership and destroy the heart of the gnollish empire. Targets for the assault were restricted, no wanton slaughter or destruction was allowed.\n\nThe second goal, was to draw the 19 out to defend their minions so that they could be destroyed by the detonation of a massive drivestone. This goal was not widely known by the troops and it forced me to be less conservative in the order of battle than I would have liked.\n\nUltimately the raid was a success, but it lead to the 19 unveiling their doomsday [[plague |The Plague]].\n\n[[Braesilasus]] now stands were the political capitol used to.

Darkhiddens are master crafters who usually focus much of their crafting ability into shaping the essence of the Darkhidden into various magic items and their Dark Vessel of Pain. This vessel is slightly similar to a liches phylactery except it can be almost anything, a rock, a tree, a cat, a powerful guardian. Some use the Dark Vessel of Pain like a lich, hiding away part of their essence somewhere. Others use it as a very able guardian. In all cases the Dragon can draw power from the vessel and while it does not completely protect their life essence the Dragon can transfer damage to it.\n\nBeyond that Red Darkhidden Dragons are deceptive and often try to trick or manipulate their enemies rather than engaging in head to head combat.\n\nThe dark vessel of pain we encountered had an insano melee attack, and could be drained by the red to give it extra actions, and life.
Might not have been founded by Kossuth, [[The Croupier]] didn't associate him with it. He could have come to it later.
Eventually we get back onto a road (I think the one leading to Big Feet Fork) and we were cruising along when we saw a well equipped party with zogon, a jail wagon and armour identifying them as members of the republic of the two suns (a Staaka named Borod told us about them, and prior to my arrival the party looted the corpse of an inquisitor). We gave them some space and eyed their equipment. From the jailwagon we heard some one cry out "help me, I'm a paladin of lathander". At this point we did our first good deed since arriving in Obakai. To be honest most of the motivation came from the quality of their gear, the amount of water and the chance to interrogate a paladin of a god, but we still rescued him. We set upon the guards and killed them. Nicely violating the peace of the road while we were at it. This would have consequences later.\n\nAfter we rescued Dormgrim we learned about his quest to destroy an evil Cairn, and his dead friend Umgrim. You can ask him for more details about his story.\n\nWe headed out in the direction of Dormgrim's failed expedition, killing a shiode hound archon who worshipped Cyric (our first clue as to who the shiode worked for, we missed it entirely). We also attacked a group of foul on the road, and got cautioned by the skymasters. Loam ignored the caution and continued attacking and he got killed for it.\n\nEventually we got to the area where the plague spirit cairn was located. Along the way we met up with a Kossuth worshipping Aiode monk named [[Khan'ur]]. He'd gone crazy and had been abandoned by his companions.

[[Rhollus]] Speculation\nThis nap of Rhollus' is him pouring concentration and divine energy into the elven renaissance. Possibly also him trying to contact other elf gods.\n***************************\n[[Shiode]] Speculation:\nThe destruction of the south didn't go as planned for [[Cyric]]. Organized lawful societies (the empire of yheenoghu) sprung up to replace the elven kingdoms, the elves below ground were under the control of Shieldalipe (thus far we think they are lawful). The north went okay for him (killed nobanion, ruined the good kingdoms up there) but Kossuth and Bane were running the show, and were very lawful.\n\nThe remaining gods were in lockdown (cato, Y) or unassailable\n\nWhat's a chaotic evil deity bent on destroying all competition and unlawing things up to do? Maybe make a bunch of little copies of himself to start stirring things up and track down any gods that are around? \n\nSomething or somehow, 600 years ago Cyric sets up his own system of the afterlife, some kind of pyramid scheme, and, if what we've been told is correct, uses souls from old faerun to do it.\nTime is in lockdown, doing what he did probably wasn't easy. It also seems to have upset the [[Croupier |The Croupier]] (who we suspect is a power with an interest in death and rebirth)\n\n400 or so years ago, Baravar does something similar, except we are able to sense shiode, and we seem to fit into the current afterlife scheme better than shiode (we become spirits, presumably will be able to move on etc..) Baravar might have figured out what he did and duplicated things? Maybe with some permission to right the wrong that cyric did, or maybe he just piggybacked. He seems proud of it anyways.\n\nMaybe they bet the croupier for it?\n\n\nAll this law and order must be driving him crazy. The empire of the gnolls turning superlawful probably gave him an ulcer.\n\n\n\n******\n\nMazokokion might know about the false cato etc, because he had the spirit of lugox on hand. Could mean others know and have been acting secretly on this information.
[[The Skymasters]]' city might be called Ruor'Hok. It's made of gold and seems to fly. Its up north somewhere we believe.
Original Elven inhabitant of this region. The oldest spirit present, exact age unknown. Wizard/Master Bombardier (same class as Bindorus)/Force Mage. Friendly, fairly well realized but distant, dreamy. Mixes up the Supreme Council and the Gnolls as the 'enemy'. Seems to have killed many servants of each. Accorded great respect by all.\n\nKilled (FD) in the breakout from Citadel Oghuhax.

The god of time? Lord of Divination\n\nHis [[aiode]] followers believe him to be dead. Baravar did a shitty job imitating him. Shevarash, the Black Archer, the Night Hunter, has arrived in Thromanthor! The Elven god (CN, Elven Demigod) of vengeance, hatred of the Drow, crusades and loss has emerged from the depths of the earth to join the Allied forces. His coming was without omen or portent. Few of his worshippers exist amongst the Allies and those that do are exulting and rallying to this stoic deity.\n\nShevarash carries in his hand [[Eberhert]], his famous bow. Ninja / necromancer hybrid developed by the Gnolls (and the 19) to kill spirits. This had a lot to do with spirits being able to talk about the 19 after death, and also spoke the 19s extreme paranoia and desire to control every aspect of life and death. \n\n[[Mazokokion]]'s gnolls also have a version of the spirit hunter.

[[Vulcan]] did not make the Foundry of Tenkkardun but he thinks students of his were involved in it's construction. Something like that would require expert craftsmen, engineers and arcanists working together. To make such a thing you have to trap a vast amount of elemental power that would be so powerful it would be self-sustaining and consume certain types of magical energies like a Resist Energy. You would then unleash upon it an equal amount of magical energy that would be shaped to both consume the elemental power and control it. With the exact balance a living spell or more accurately a persistent conjuration or other effect can be made.

Umgrim was waiting for us in spirit form when we arrived at the crater that held the plague spirit cairn. He had gathered some allies who offered to be our spirit companions, no one took him up on the offer. We got some warnings about crypt touched who were also seeking the cairn, and had to fight a manticore in order to obtain it. we ended up stuffing it into the jail wagon. Of course the whole plague spirit quest turned out to be a giant setup, someone should ask Dormgrim about that.\n\nWe began trundling the cairn towards the city of temples, expecting the inhabitants there to be able to deal with it. Along the way we passed through Big Feet Fork, where we hired a demented lizardman named Wrigglemax to guide us. He eventually ran off when he realized what our cargo was and how dangerous it was.\n\nOn our way Julian died again, but probably stole another body. I think he ran off as well. Jan and Jack left us as well, Jack stole a bunch of extra water. All three should be tracked down and interrogated.\n\nWe met up with a spirit who I think was named [[Dulca Lahood]], who claimed to be from Greyhawk, another 'crystal sphere'. He possessed [[Khan'ur]] and was useful in defending our group. There has been some speculation that he was a shiode spirit, but nothing concrete to back that up.\n\nWe also met [[Marion]] of Battledale and his companion, a barbarian malar worshipper, Something Bloodyhands. The river of time is a theoretical construct used to describe the passage of time and the potential persistence of magic and advanced magical patterns. [[Vulcan]] gives a complicated description. You realize that what he is describing would be considered in Faerun to be an aberration. It's something only possible in a world without planes, a world where magic and even time itself, or fate, is trapped in one plane that is not of that which it is holding. Time and magic are stuck here even tho this plane is not a plane of time or a plane or home to magic. This would theoretically allow long lived magical effects. How it would effect time you are not sure.\nAnd remember Vulcan does not believe in other planes. He was created after the cataclysm. He remembers Gond thinking there should be other planes but Vulcan says now he was just confused. -- [[Vulcan]]\n\nThe River of Time is a theoretical construct used to create powerful magics and a theory about the nature of time and fate. It estimates that all fate is predetermined and the flow of events can not be changed from a pre-ordained pattern. Various scholars had different ideas on who might have set this pattern; the pattern was set naturally, the pattern was determined by the essental nature of specific races (we can't escape ourselves), the pattern was set by a natural or unnatural 'hidden force,' it was set by a prime, etc. -- [[the 13]]

Powerful tool of creation used by the Giants. Users pay a terrible toll for using it. Using it for combat has terrible results. Very very dangerous.\n\nUsed to break the curse on [[Baldur]]. Killed or maimed the entire party doing it.
Created and guarded by the house of thunder.\nHouses the constructs.\nGuarded by constructs.\nThere are many comatose giant spirits floating in the dawning inside the vault.\nThere are sentient powerful giant spirits guarding the vault.\nThey attack people affiliated to earth. They respond well to politeness.\n\nI know how the vault is powered. The giants implied the dawning energy stored there could be used in a time of war.\n\nThe vault of air was made to host the Workers and the Leader Construct, to better educate all races and promote learning and stability. -- [[Vulcan]]
Drained celestial creatures and used the energy to control nature.\n\nDestroyed by the party.\n\nThe Vault of Earth was made to nurture and control the natural world -- [[Vulcan]]
Believed to be in the Republic of the Two Suns. Perhaps in the imperial foundry.\n\nThe Vault of Fire was made to burn enemies where ever they are in the world -- [[Vulcan]]
The Vault of Negative Energy which was made to communicate with spirits (he will not tell you where this is, he considers it someones private property). --[[Vulcan]]\n\n
The Vault of Positive Energy was made to link and nurture all celestials -- [[Vulcan]]
Drains elemental creatures to create water.\n\nWas guarded by an ancient red darkhidden [[dragon |Red Darkhidden Dragon]].\n\nOnly [[Baravar Cloakshadow]] knows its location on the allies side and he has sent groups to free it before, with no success.\n\nOpened up by the party.\n\nThe Vault of Water was made to counter the ascendancy of [[Yaesseth]], [[Kossuth]]'s son and the second sun in the sky. -- [[Vulcan]]\n\nFlying boats might be associated with the vault of water, which could link up to the [[Jammer's Guild]]
The Vault of the Darkhidden which was made to explore the Darkhidden and to more safely influence Obakai from the Darkhidden. --[[Vulcan]]
The Vault of the Dawning was made to shape Dawning energy into pure inspiration for creators of all kinds of things. That vault is the heart of the [[Citadel of 1000 locks]]. -- [[Vulcan]]\n\nEntering it is like entering a golden hued hall of mirrors. You see yourself reflected thousands of times over. It is dizzying and wonderful. If you study the reflections you see with you are persons, places, books and other things that you have encountered in your life. In this prism you are able to both contemplate your own ideas and potential and pore over all that you know of the world. -- [[Matti Kurrika]]
In the Vault of Air, in one of the white igloo huts. Dead bodies of elves, a growling voice asking how you change the combination, and an answer.\nView point was from the floor, this is where [[Marion]] found the hand of the construct.\n\nInterpretation: [[Kincaid]] presumed dead by the Shieldalipe 'advisors' is taken to the medical workshop and the hand removed. He revives and kills the elves and forces them to change the entry code, hopefully denying them access. This is a hands eye view of events.\n\nConfirmed by the [[second vision |Vision 2]]
Three or more elves remove the hand from a large Dunmoren who wakes up and attacks. He is incredibly ferocious.\n\n
A wolf body with a face on it (Dunmoren). Asks, when will the gnolls run out of reinforcements? Someone responds, rally your troops regroup on high ground.\n\ninterpretation: [[Kincaid]]'s battle against the gnolls is losing as the endless tide is turned against him.
Fear and pain and more pain. A naked person? on a slab, elves dressed in fine clothing comment: Interesting, so it has a purpose. Remove it, it may help us yet.\n\n\nInterpretation: Shieldalipe's followers obtain the hand and experiment with it?
He has a full metal body, he is in the middle of a heavily armed elven army. A huge (16 foot tall) gold plated? gnoll wielding a flail and a staff with skulls surrounded by a shimmering aura of power, hits him and disintigrates him with one blow.\nHe also sees Cato in plate armour with a long sword.\n\n\nInterpretation: The death of the first construct at the hands of [[Yeenoghu]] moments before Cato is betrayed.
NG God of Community and Crafting. Patron of Goodbrick. Formed by [[Cyric]]'s attack on [[Gond]].\n\n[[Vulcan]] himself is a huge, brawny human. His eyes burn with an otherworldly intelligence and he seems constantly at work in his massive, wondrous shop in the heart of his citadel. He is brusque, prone to sudden outbursts of speech and then long periods of silence. There is no doubt this is a god tho one not nearly as powerful as [[Rhollus]]. \n\nHe made the weapons and armor that were given to [[Cato |Peleus Cato]] by request tho he says he is oath bound to not reveal who the 'ancient crusader' is. He says those items should be recovered at all cost. They are very useful.\n[[Cyric]] has a longsword that serves a similar function to [[Rhollus]]'s hammer tho he believes it is of inferior quality. ***** Matti "It's not 'Rhollus's' hammer, the hammer belongs to Cato and the Legion. Rhollus is safeguarding it.\n\n\nOne aspect of Vulcan's dogma is that true inspiration comes from within. -- [[Matti Kurrika]]\n\nVulcan preaches self-development, promotion of crafting skills education and trade and the value of community tho Vulcan does not demand that people practice their skills as charity.\n\nThe two deities rarely come into direct conflict and instead try to avoid each other as much as possible. Their rivalry is played out by the measure of their influence and the success of their followers in thriving and practicing their trades. It is believed Imrod got off to a better start and his Gnomes are quite entrenched, knowledgeable and successful. Vulcans followers, mostly humans, had a harder time of it and were wiped out more than once. It has been suspected that Imrod has incited the Foul and others to attack Vulcans flock at different times. Currently Goodbrick is doing well and is ready to expand beyond it's traditional boundaries. It's expected that Imrod will try to do something to halt this. Already the barbarian Foul hunt for Goodbricks agents across the Ullioch Wastes in the North.\nVulcan is a tireless worker who has a fantastic workshop hidden somewhere in Goodbrick. He takes on many apprentices. Anyone trained by him is more than an expert in their chosen trade. His guardians are might elemental kine of all types, powerful constructs and humanoids equipped with deadly gadgets.
Just a quick note: Waldsen got his leads on Takreet as magic papers from 'good and just pokers' ie, gnomes. Strong possibility of cloakshadow's involvement.

Xonxia was a male Elf and patriarch of the Xonxaver Clan. \nHe was a very powerful and was publicly considered a neutral member of the council.\n\nSecretly Xonxia was obsessed with understanding and mastering the magics practiced by Giants. He conducted many brutal and fell experiments within his many strongholds. He also strove to collect as many relics and artifacts of the Age of Giants as he could.\n\nIn the course of these practices two events seemed to converge; he believed he had discovered something called the Darkhidden and succeeded in enhancing the powers of a captured collection of Cloaker Lords. Xonxia believed the Darkhidden was both a unique source of incredibly strong magical power and a part of all Obakai that was undetectable to most creatures. A ring of unknown origin was central to this work and Xonxia was searching for another ring he believed to be it's counter. He was conditioning the Cloaker Lords to be able to venture into the Darkhidden and explore it for him.\n\nXonxia was killed inside one of his most secure labs in a classic 'locked room' mystery tho this time the locks involved security devices of Giant manufacture. He was obviously killed in a spellduel and no sign of his opponent was found. More alarmingly many of his records, artifacts and assistants vanished over the next few days. Attempts to raise Xonxia or commune with his spirit all failed. Divinations could only determine he had suffered final death.\n\nIt is noted that the initial investigation was handled by military police under the command of the Shieldaliy clan. The authors initial efforts were stymied by the fact that the military police had seized most of the remaining artifacts and unique self crafted items that remained in Xonxia's holdings tho they continued to search for a specific pair of rings. The authors regard these Shieldaliy people with disdain and determined that the military was unable to make any headway in their own investigation. \n\nSpeaking to [[Xonxia's clone]] and circumstantial evidence discovered in [[Xonxia's Redoubt]] back a slightly different version of events.
Elf, good, arcane caster in the dawning are the keys.
The party met Xonxia's clone by entering the porthra, held in an area outside of time.\n\nSome members of the party need to track down Xonxia's wife and inform her that Xonxia wasn't an evil bastard.\n\nMore specifically they need to track down the spirit of a female gold elf named [[Mafaia Hawae]], his old mistress, and tell her what went on.
Could be the second sun.\n\nAccording to [[The Croupier]]\nDuring the age of Destruction the elements seemed to be at war with each other. Late in the Age of Destruction a second sun appeared as Kossuth's power rose. He is not aware of the fate of the other elemental gods.
CE god of Gnolls. Imprisoned by his own followers and then killed to release his energy into the natural world which fed the creation of Rhollus. Source: Rhollus, the party\n\nAccording to Yeenoghu's memories, he was awakened in a cave by a giant black snake that offered him an alliance. He fought the snake but couldn't kill it. He then started assembling a gnollish force to destroy the elves.\n\nI think the snake was either Set, or a giant evil snake possessed by the 19.\n\nYeenoghu's success was aided by the deliberate actions of the Shieldalai clan, who were in charge of most of the elven military.
Jepitine's Message\n\n"Jepitine messages Ophia Xerxus that she 'has to leave.' She would not say where she is going. She asks Ophia to tell Marion that she very much hopes to see him again one day 'when they both will be free.' Attempts to locate her then prove fruitless. An investigation is launched led by Xindikaath, a femal Illithid wizard and Legion member. " \n\n\nFrom the living wall in [[The Long Drop]]\n\n"Hail fellow Aiode. I can not imagine what quest or cause has lead you here but I hope you are doing well and find what you seek. The castle seems completely deserted. Facing it at the far right end is a near intact chamber boasting a magic sphere that display a shifting pattern of stars. It's purpose is unkown to me. At the base of the left most tower is a pool that can cure wounds. The bridge is as you should already know extremely dangerous territory. The Thame beyond is worse than hell. Every creature you see there is our enemy. You will likely find no Shiode beyond the bridge. Why this is I do not know. You should have a strength that others might lack; faith in our cause and faith in a divine power greater than ourselves. These are strengths that might serve you well here. This is not the bridge I was looking for. Perchance I might find it and one day meet you there and finally we will all be free."\n\nJepitine was not with us in the long drop, and not a lot of people have been told about that message board as far as I know.\n\n\nIt is likely that [[Jepitine]]'s depression, abandonment of her vows etc.. lead her to go on [[Baravar Cloakshadow]]'s super secret super epic quest. It seems like other highly depressed or out of place people have been recruited for this in the past. Baldur, after being heavily cursed for centuries, and highly mindfucked, and an elf aiode woman who was likewise screwed by the 13 for a long time, and kept in the darkhidden (her corpse retrieved during the raid on the capitol, she was being used as a shiode detector by the 13).\n\nThis quest has the recruiting pitch of , when you have nothing left to accomplish here on obakai and no ties keeping you here.. fits her abandoning her vow and being all war shellshocked.
[[Dormgrin]] messages the party members and urges them to keep this confidential. He has been destroying undead on the battlefields around the [[Great Briar]]. In the course of this campaign he has encountered the team lead by [[Xindikaath]], the Illithid investigating the disappearance of [[Jepitine]]. Dormgrin asks for a face to face meeting with everybody near the end of the month. The meeting is held at a graveyard occupied by Dormgrins followers. Dormgrin tells the party that he believes Xindikaath's investigation is a fake and that he is instead covering up whatever happened to Jepitine. He has detected no evil amongst [[Xindikaath]]s team but he thinks they are all lieing.
Seen haunting the battlefields around the [[Great Briar]], eating corpses? Bloody mouthed? Possibly linked to [[Jepitine]]'s split from the [[Legion of Cato]] and the abandonment of her oath of non violence.\n\n
